Ted Deacey — editor, colourist & filmmaker

Hello.

I’m Ted Deacey, a freelance colourist based out of Melbourne/Naarm.

My origins began as a designer, studying at the University of Tasmania and then relocating to Melbourne, where I worked in multiple AGDA award winning design studios, honing skills in typography, branding and motion design.

Since then, my love for film drew me naturally into colour grading – and since then have worked across a range of TVCs, short films and music videos – where I strive to perpetually develop my own taste and style, typically embodying a rich sense of saturation and texture.

In 2021, I directed my first short film ‘Pinata’ – a pitch black dark comedy starring Francis Greenslade, which premiered at Oscar Qualifying Film Festival, Izmir International (Turkey).

All are welcome to attend edit or colour sessions in-suite at Associates Studios in Collingwood – or collaborate via remote process.
